# Legal notice Tor.Live is a search engine and directory for onion services on the Tor network. This notice is for law enforcement, regulators and anyone who wants to know how we work. ## What we do We crawl and index onion services that anyone can reach, the way a web search engine indexes the public web. We list a service so people can find it, see whether it is online and read what others say about it. ## A listing is not an endorsement We do not run, host, own or vouch for any service we list, and we take no part in what they offer. Status, ratings and reviews describe what our crawlers and our members observed. They do not say that a service is safe or lawful. ## How we keep prohibited content out Our crawlers visit and classify tens of thousands of onion pages every day. Pages and sites that host or link to such content are kept out of search and removed from the directory for public safety and ethical reasons ([See what's not allowed](/pages/site-rules)). ## Why we exist Researchers, journalists, human-rights workers and activists study the Tor network. We give them a safe way to do it: they can see what exists and whether it is online without visiting services blind. ## Report prohibited content Members can directly report any site, search result, review or forum thread. You can also contact our abuse team anonymously via EMail. [Contact us](/pages/contact) ยท [PGP key](/pages/pgp)
