About Tor.Live

The onion network, peeled layer by layer

Tor.Live finds online hidden services, Crawls and indexes them and keep the bad ones out with the power of the community.

How it works

  1. We crawl

Our crawlers visit onion services day and night, read their pages and follow their links to find new ones.

  2. We check

Probes check every address in a continuous loop and record when it answers. The status you see is measured, not claimed.

  3. We filter

What we crawl is classified. Pages and services that carry illegal material are kept out of search and the directory.

  4. You decide

Ratings, reviews and each site's own forum show you what other people found.

Features

  • A search engine for the onion network

Search crawled pages, listings, forum posts, comments and profiles from one box.

  • Realtime uptime monitoring

Every listing shows whether it answers right now and how reliably it has answered over time.

  • Verified addresses

Owners sign their addresses with their PGP key and we check every signature, so a Verified badge means the address belongs to the key's holder.

  • Reviews and reputation

Members rate and review sites. Votes build each reviewer's karma, so helpful voices count for more.

  • A forum for every site

Each listing has its own community space to ask questions, warn others and share news. Owners moderate it, and a public log shows every moderation step.

  • Analytics for owners

Owners who claim their listing see visits, search arrivals, traffic sources, backlinks and visitor journeys, and get a live status badge for their own site.

  • Follow what matters

Follow sites and members and get notified when something changes.

  • Suggestions for you

Pick your interests and your home page suggests sites you have not seen yet.

  • Readable by AI agents

Every public page has a plain Markdown version, plus llms.txt and ai.txt, so research tools read us cleanly.

Total anonymity and privacy

We do

  • work fully in Tor Browser's Safest setting
  • let you join with no email address (you keep a recovery phrase)
  • offer two-factor sign-in

We never

  • run scripts of our own
  • load anything from other servers
  • store visitors' IP addresses (visits are counted with a one-way hash)
  • show ad trackers

Safe for research

We crawl and classify tens of thousands of pages every day and keep illegal material out of search and the directory. Researchers, journalists and activists can study the network here without walking into it.

A listing is never an endorsement. Read our Legal notice.
